“Studio Rennais54nce” Collection

Autumn/Winter 2021

Autumn moods are festive, and to bring the fashion show back to the stage, it’s a good time to remember the American cult club “Studio 54” in a more historical way. Revival isn’t necessarily about creating a perfect composition of what a particular moment in time looked like, but a mix of everything that reflects our needs and desires yesterday. How we understand the style of the decade only comes into focus in hindsight, and the various elements of the late ’70s that the designer pulls out of the mold are largely elements of pre-recession decadence and unbridled party glamour.

“In revolutionary times, it’s good to escape into the world of mystery and fantasy,” says fashion designer Anu Ling, “This is all fueled by children’s books, but also visual art and literature.” Whether it’s Rapunzel, who lived in an imposed quarantine, or the tragedy “Party in the Time of the Plague”, both of which recall a little bit about today.

In the fashion show, twenty sets will be presented, the charm of which is hidden in small details with a disco feel: slightly sloppy, unhemmed lapels, contrasted with edging pockets. Large pearl necklaces, gracefully high silk organza collars and luxuriously sparkling pleats – these are the key words for the Fall. Alexanderlingish draping has also found its place in the collection, which is highlighted on the soft viscose jersey fabric, as well as on the silk tartan pattern and puff sleeves. The end result is rich and playful Autumn.
